woohoo for work...I guess

Figured I'd blog a bit while I'm sitting at work doing nothing. Yay for doing nothing. I am still working overnights and its ungodly early. In about 1 and a half hours or so the day crew will be coming in and then it will be almost time for me to go home. That means I can go to bed, and
maybe, just maybe, actually get some sleep. I mentioned in my last post that I had been in Vegas. I'll add some Vegas pics.
The first picture is of the New York, New York hotel and rollercoaster. That rollercoaster is awesome! I loved it! I ended up with a massive headache, but it was still alot of fun. The next picture is of the MGM Grand. Another really cool hotel. They have
a lion enclosure inside. The lines are cool. I have pictures (and a video) of them too..but not on this computer.
Last but not least is the Excalibur. I know...there are lots of other hotels in Vegas, but these are the only ones I have pics of here at work....actually I think they are the only ones I took pics of. I take that back. I have pics of the hotels on Freemont street. I'll have to post those tonight. =) I have some other pics they are all up on MySpace (or will be soon).

Viva Las Vegas

Well I survived my trip to Las Vegas. I got to work with two great photographers. I am excited to get to see all the pictures we shot. I also went to California to see some family. I got to see my Grandparents on my dad's side for the second time this year. That was great. I got to catch up with my Uncle John (Dad's brother) and that was also very awesome. I got to see my Grandparent's on mom's side for the first time in four years. I missed them soooooooo much. They even suprised me with a big mexican dinner and family I haven't seen in ages. I got see my cousins James and Amy. I also got to see my cousin Priscilla, her daughter Trina and my Aunt Debbie (Mom's sister). I didn't get many pictures of my family, I was too busy catching up on all the goings ons. Its hard to believe I hadn't seen most of them in years, but it was just like old times. James, Amy and I sat outside and chatted. Grandpa Martin took us shooting with one of the .22 rifles he has. It was a great trip, but I'm also glad to be home.

Yay for Overnight Shifts part 3

I have about an hour and half left of this overnight shift. I am so not looking foward to doing this again tomorrow. I am not sure what I'll do to entertain myself. I an fighting sleep so bad right now its not funny. Almost done.

Yay for Overnight Shifts part 2.

I adore June's blog. I have been reading the archives tonight to keep me awake and was actually laughing so hard my eyes teared up. The other guy working with me must think I'm a bit crazy. lol. Oh well. So go check out Bye Bye Pie at http://www.byebyepie.typepad.com.

Yay for Overnight shifts

Well, its just about 8:30 on Saturday night and I'm working my first overnight shift for my new job. So far so good other than a few technical problems. Its just me and one other guy in this very creepy building. Oh yeah. lol. Otherwise things are ok. I am hoping that this night goes ok. My shift will be overnights on the weekends which is fine because that means I can have most of the week off to spend time with my family. =) Just a short post for now. I'll add more after I survive this shift.

Friends, we all need them

So I am writing this at work, in Word, before I copy and paste it into my blog. Go me. It’s a way to blog at work I guess. I got a phone call from my friend Corvyn today. I sent him a text message thanking him for a phone call earlier in the week, and he called to make sure I was ok. I am glad I have friends like him. He says I’m the toughest chick he knows and is surprised that all the stress as of late is getting to me. I have been really stressed in the last week or so. The phone call from Corvyn made me want to write a bit about the people in my life.
My fiancé, Alex, is going to New Mexico for training and will be gone for a year and a half at most. So I will be living in our house by myself with the two cats for 18 months. Am I happy about that? No, not really. I am happy that he is working again and has a decent paying job, but it still sucks that he has to be going away for so long. At least he will be working close to home. He has been there for me when I needed and told me to suck it up when I really needed to just get myself under control. He has been the nagging influence in getting to know my biological father. He has been one of the few constants in my life since I first started at ATX (and subsequently got laid off).
Corvyn has been texting and calling me the last week to check on me. He says he worries about me when I’m stressed. He is afraid I’ll snap or something I guess. I am glad I can call him whenever I need to in order to vent about stuff that’s got me down. I can tell him anything and he doesn’t judge me. He doesn’t tell me to suck it up and deal. He actually listens which is nice. I know part of the reason he listens is just in hopes of getting lucky. But he also is a good friend.
There is Danielle who I know I could call at the drop of a hat for advice and a good vent, but she is so busy. She has a job and a little one to worry about. I don’t wanna burden my best friend with more than she already has to deal with.
Monte is another of my friends. He is a good friend from ATX. In the last month and a half we have been a sounding board for each other. We can vent to other and if nothing else we make each other laugh. He is going to go to work in Caribou on October 10th, but I’m sure I’ll still harass him through emails. I hope he knows he can still email me if he needs to talk about anything.
I can’t forget Jen and J who have been great friends to me in the last three years. I adore them. They are almost like family to me. We have been there for each other and have been able to talk about anything and everything that has come up.
Finally, there is Isael, although he has been part of my stress in the last week. He is my ex-boyfriend, and one of my best friends. He is one of my friends I wish I had more contact with. I am going to keep in contact with him while he is in Iraq. He better come home in one piece too or I’m gonna kick his butt.
Of course I have family I can talk to but sometimes they aren’t as biased as your friends. A real friend will tell you the truth. I may not have many friends, but damn it I have a few close ones who I cherish. Although most of them won’t read this, I want to say thank you to all my friends. I am sure I have missed several people in this write up; I cherish everyone I missed as well. I have lots of friends (some still in New Mexico, some who have left) who have touched my life and helped shape who I am. Just because I didn’t list you by name don’t mean I don’t think highly of you. Ok I am done with a slightly sappy post. Maybe I’ll be back to myself later.

Work work work

I am still at VMS..I still hated it. Alex did fine on his interview for Border Patrol. He will get a letter soon letting him know what day he leaves for training. I am happy sorta and sad sorta. It means he will be gone for roughly a year and a half. joy...:( I will miss him lots. Other than that...my best friend Isael is going to Iraq on the third. I really am not happy about that. I know he is tough and will come home to us safe and sound. At least he better come home safe and sound or he is in for an ass wooping.

Yay for weekends!

After a long week at work I love the weekends. Although, it looks like today I will have to run some errands, oh well. At least I don't have to sit at work and read depressing news articles. Maybe I'll actually get my Halloween costume sewed today. I'll try it, but I doubt my cat will let me get any work done. On another craft note, I started a new afghan and a new scarf. Hopefully they both come out nice, but ya never know. OK..that is all for now, maybe I'll actually write something of significance later.

Hello all!!

Here is my first post. Wow...I have a blog. I haven't had a blog since Livejournal and Deadjournal were the most popular things going. I think that was in middle school. I work full time and spend the rest of my time either playing video games or watching TV. I write in my spare time, although lately I have had major writer's block. Anyone know how to cure that? Speaking of writer's block. I've hit a brick wall. Yay..that is it.
